We all know certain historical events. Either we’ve been there or we’ve seen it. The second one is either via some sort of media. Most of the time via pictures. The most historical things we remember from the really old days are photo’s. One guy standing up against a whole line of tanks (and promptly disappeared off the world after that), or the tearing down of certain dictators statue’s.
But what about the other photo’s taken at the same event that got golden? They might not be as memorable, but they certainly give a new point of view on the whole situation. That’s why the following photo’s are here.
The Hoover Dam before it was flooded
Martin Luther King Jrs I have a dream speech.
The iceberg believed to have sunk the Titanic.
Filming the MGM lion.
The Tank Man in Tiananmen Square.
Wilbur Wright flies around the Statue of Liberty.
Spectators watch the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
Neil Armstrong right after he walked on the moon.
The Hollywood sign right after it was built.
Iranian soldiers looks at the burning Iraqi oil fields.
Aftermath of the Victory over Japan Day celebrations in New York City.
Jackie Kennedy watching her husband debate Richard Nixon.
Abraham Lincoln and General George McClellan.
The models of the ‘American Gothicq’ painting.
A Native American observes the completed Transcontinental railroad.
Traffic jam in Berlin as the border between East and West Germany opens.
Crowds at the original Woodstock Music Festival.
Young Adolf Hitler celebrating the announcement of World War One. Although some historians disagree if it’s really Hitler on the photo’s, i’m still showing it.
