Free to play games are hot. The sheer amount of games made in this billion dollar industry is insane. But to buy them all is not really something you want, unless you are a billionaire. Although money for a game isn’t always a problem, the lack of demo’s is holding people back. A game like GTA V will sell with no problems, but other games have it tougher.
With free games it’s different. You can try. And if you don’t like it you uninstall it. No costs attached. Unfortunately not all games are still known, so here is a list of 24 free to play games you should try.
My money (get it?) is on Warframe and Planetside 2.
1. League of Legends.
Join forces with your closest allies as you unite to defeat your foes in deadly multiplayer battle arenas. League of Legends combines elements from both strategy and role playing games to bring you a unique and dynamic player experience.
Allow the Lotus to guide you. She has rescued you from your cryostasis chamber and given you a chance to survive. The Grineer will find you; you must be prepared. The Lotus will teach you the ways of the Warframes and the secrets to unlocking their powers.
A brilliant shooter. Although it can be a bit boring after grinding for a while. Nonetheless you should try it.
Hearthstone is a free-to-play digital strategy card game that anyone can enjoy. Players choose one of nine epic Warcraft heroes to play as, and then take turns playing cards from their customizable decks to cast potent spells, use heroic weapons or abilities, or summon powerful characters to crush their opponent.
Unturned is a sandbox game in the emerging multiplayer apocalypse survival genre. Rather than focusing on being an MMO it provides players with easy systems to sit down and survive the zombie infestation with their friends. Over the course of a typical adventure, groups will have a blast fortifying locations, scavenging for supplies, trying to live off the land and negotiating with other people.
The Expendabros have assembled and set their sights on the forces of ruthless arms dealer Conrad Stonebanks in the forests of Eastern Europe. Battle in a flurry of bullets and non-stop action through ten full-throttle missions set amongst the picturesque tree tops and the absurdly dangerous lumber mills teeming with enemy soldiers, excessive artillery, and inconveniently placed circular saws. Rescue your brothers in arms and play as seven different legendary soldiers – each with their own unique weapons and special attacks – with up to four players at once in local multiplayer co-op mode.
6. Tribes Ascend.
Tribes: Ascend is a new generation of the online multiplayer shooter, incorporating classic Tribes elements such as fast-paced jetpack enabled combat, skiing, and vehicles, combined with teamwork and strategy. Brilliant, fast, and you will probably die a lot as a newbie.
7. Ghost Recon: Phantoms.
Experience the next generation of PC multiplayer shooters with Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms. Step into the boots of an elite Ghost and deploy cutting-edge weapons and technology as you link up with your squad to dominate your enemies on tomorrow’s battlefield.
8. Mech Warrior Online.
MechWarrior Online is the first offiicially licensed free-to-play title in the MechWarrior franchise.
Go ahead and fit a monster machine.
Build insane Robot Battle Vehicles that drive, hover and fly, add weapons from the future and jump in the driving seat as you take them into battle in a team based capture the base Free-to-Win MMO.
10. War Thunder.
War Thunder is a next generation MMO combat game dedicated to World War II military aviation, armored vehicles, and fleets. You will take part in all of the major combat battles, fighting with real players all over the world.
Shoot any way you’d like, with a myriad of weapons, armor, and special abilities that evolve with experience. Custom character creation means you can play as human or alien, modifying your look to become a unique citizen of the Defiance world. The real-life series are also cool to watch. As they have been a greater succes than they planned the game to be.
12. Path of Exile.
You are an Exile, struggling to survive on the dark continent of Wraeclast, as you fight to earn power that will allow you to exact your revenge against those who wronged you. Created by hardcore gamers, Path of Exile is an online Action RPG set in a dark fantasy world.
13. Marvel Heroes.
Set in the iconic Marvel Universe, Marvel Heroes combines the core game-play style of Action RPGs and MMOs with the expansive library of heroes from the Marvel Universe. In the game, players can collect and play as their favorite Marvel Superheroes (including Iron Man, Thor, Wolverine, Hulk, Spider-Man, Captain America and many others).
14. Team Fortress 2.
Nine distinct classes provide a broad range of tactical abilities and personalities. Constantly updated with new game modes, maps, equipment and, most importantly, hats!

17. Heroes & Generals.
Heroes & Generals is a Free2Play Massively Online FPS with a Strategic Multiplayer Campaign, set in the midst of World War II Europe, where the United States, Germany and the Soviet Union all fight each other for control.
18. Quake Live.
An online revival of a popular classic. What else to say, go and have a play. You’d probably get slaughtered in these high-speed matches, but don’t let that discourage you. It’s awesome.
HAWKEN is a multiplayer first person shooter for PC that places you inside a mechanized war machine on the battlefield of a dystopian world called Illal. 21. Dota 2.
Dota 2 is a competitive game of action and strategy, played both professionally and casually by millions of passionate fans worldwide. Players pick from a pool of over a hundred heroes, forming two teams of five players. Radiant heroes then battle their Dire counterparts to control a gorgeous fantasy landscape, waging campaigns of cunning, stealth, and outright warfare.
League of Legends is a strong (free) alternative. Search for a nice team to play with, because the community is shit.

23. Planetside 2.
